 Finally decided how I'm going to make the new deck. Big problem with the Royal manual typewriter NO SPELL CHECK. I had to change the meaning of the flower.  I wanted to draw a frame around the 

edges and put a square around the number but I know I don't have those skills so I chose to add the border by layering on plain card stock with the background text stamped on it.

Columbine

I used the columbine flower to represent the fool in my new flora tarot deck.

This is my first attempt and hoping to get better. I can always make it again once I have some skills with that oxide ink. I do like the back.

I want to delete these photos so badly! I won't though, sometimes you have to fail like fifty times before you get something you like. I'm over the days of keeping my art in the closet.

Added the black border, now I know what I have done wrong so I will make a whole new fool tomorrow. I like the idea it just needs structure.

Redid the whole thing. I really like how this one turned out.

I used snapdragon for the Moon tarot card.

You are not supposed to make mud with this product but I am trying! Over worked I do believe.

Took several attempts to turn the left brain off when sketching these columbine flowers.

So excited, I was stuck on how I wanted to make my next tarot deck. Since I have no art friends, I made my husband endure the thought process and he helped me decide what to do! I'm going to do a flower tarot using the meaning of flowers to match the card, for instance, Columbine means Fool. I used to use the language of flowers years ago when making Victorian type votive candle holders with pressed flowers. I put a little note in the package with the meanings.

I think I knew where I was going but I was just stuck. 

My neck is killing me today and I can't go out in the sun with my new medicine so I am trying to be bummed out.

Garden 2015

Bleeding hearts and lilac hedge row

When landscaping this yard we decided flowering bushes and perennials were the way to go.  My hedge row of lilacs is finally filling out.  They have had the worst go of it but I think they have gotten over the hump and will fill out and provide some noise reduction for the pool.

Rant removed for the sake of peace on earth.

I don't remember Jane ever blooming the same time as the lilacs.  No buds on the spider wort but the columbine have naturalized and are really pretty.  That is Ramone my pool boy/ gardener (flower arranger) in the one shot.  He does all the hard work and I paint with flowers outside and in.  Isn't it beautiful?  It has rained all week here in the mid west and everything is so lush and green.
