pressed flower wall

Gathered all my pressed flower pictures I've made over the years and put them on one wall in the kitchen. I like the wall color with the art.

Finished another section of the studio, this is the chime section. And the gaudy street light.

new quilt!

Miss Lucy approved the fabric for the new quilt I'm going to make. She loves to find the tallest pile of soft and lay down on it!

I got my mosaic section of the studio laid out by the fireplace. It was everything I could do to stop myself from going to town on that ugly tile around the pellet stove but need to do some planning first. With Elvis there it turned into a little altar. I love it. When the sun hits the glass beads it is magical. John is going to help me out with that project.

I really need to get the unpacking finished so I can spend the winter on projects! I have SO many plans already. Lace the windows in the bathrooms with corn starch, mosaic the brick sidewalk, make a quilt, make something with all the scarfs and lace and hankies I've collected over the last 15 years. I could go on and on.

It was really exciting to get to pick out fabrics at Marden's today! I was shopping for furniture but when I found the bottom two pieces of 108" wide fabric with the perfect colors for backing the fun began! I haven't gone through my stash but am sure I have more to go with! I didn't have a picture of the rug but I remembered all the colors.

Christmas catus

All my plants love it here in Maine and so do I! This one is bursting with color! I had made sure to have a southern exposure in the new house so I could bring my garden inside. I'm excited to see if I can grow the elephant ear and begonias in here.
This crazy lamp post was bolted to the front porch when we moved in. So wrong...anyway,  John put a new tongue and grove ceiling on the porch and wired up this cool light.
Of course I had to bring the street light into the studio and use it for a chandelier. We ordered a fifty pound weight from Wal mart. They shipped it as is and then he drilled it to attach it and wired it up for inside.

Gaudy  as hell, I know, but that is the look I am going for. Besides I needed a new substrate for all my baubles. I will be tweaking this as I think it need something.
Trashed this idea....not all things work.
Riki is getting settled in and doesn't even stir when the pipes bang like hell when the steam heat comes on. He is braver than I, John was on nights and it scared the crap out of me.

My first haul from Main Street Mercantile...just blocks from my house and then a second.
The bathroom needs a redo so in the mean time all this pink sure makes a girl feel right at home.
I ordered fifty two porcelain cabinet knobs...love them. The upper right hand knob was the original and too big and too mushroom y. It makes a big difference even though a small detail.
Just a peek at the upstairs runners! I love all the rugs!
