texture foam for gelli printing

Better shot of the texture sheets.

gelli print texture sheets

I needed matt medium, so the 50% off coupon at Michael's really helped me out.  Excited to try the gel pens for dark paper.  AND, check out all that texture for the gelli plate!  The entire pack was only 1.99 in the kids aisle!  Fun.  They had flowers shapes and stars but I figured I could cut some simple shapes if I need them.

I gave some teenagers the jewelry coupon.  I will have to say, the ad was good this week at Michael's!

sunrise

I guess I should get up earlier, the sky was really beautiful this morning.

Christmas haul 2013

I could not resist this stencil even though it was $9.00!

My sweet husband is buying me a new chair for Christmas!  He took me to the Global show room yesterday and I picked out the style. Now, I just need to decide what color.

The showroom just happened to be in the same part of town as a few of my favorite stores.  Picked up the white water based sharpie markers and the stencil at the scrap store.  Then, stopped by Tuesday morning for a super cheap trip.  I got those great tubes of fabric paint for only .14 cents a piece and the crafty chica were only .89 cents for three!   So, the rubber stamp store is too close to pass by. We stopped and I picked up the rubber stamps for super cheap also.  Two bucks for the mask, and one dollar for the background shapes!  Oh and the little syringes were .25 cents a piece.
I was pleased with my savings on art supplies because the chair is NOT cheap, but I think it will be a good investment for my back.
I for see a comfortable, fun, art filled winter.  I'm already bracing myself for the first swipe of paint on the chair.

screen of ICE

This is my view of the pool today.  A SHEET of ice.  Brrr.

Could be what inspired my snowflake page.  I used my leftover gelli prints to do this page and finished it with a little bit of gel pen.
I really miss my little dog.

gelli print snowman

I made my grandson a snowman greeting card with the gelli plate yesterday morning.  I will have to say it is the shortest printing session I have ever done.  In 45 minutes I had this print and many others so I threw it together for a card.  Used deli paper to pull second and third prints.  Hopefully I have enough to do a page in my journal.
I don't know about anyone else but I lose time when printing and don't ever want to stop!  Yes.  It is a true addiction.

blackbird fly gelli print

I like this page much better than the last.  Gelli prints on deli paper make such a wonderful background for your art journal.  I used matt medium to glue the bird prints down.  Added some paint to the edges and the text and it is DONE.  Fun page and I love my bird stencil I made a few weeks ago.

Still don't like this page after whitewashing it.  I guess that is what is great about art journals.  You don't have to make good art as long as your making art!  I will say I like the lesson in the nine of swords.

Crystal tree 2013

I wired two square nails to make the cross.  Then threaded tiny crystals on to the wire and wrapped the cross.  Actually, I have spent three days trying to make a star but it did not work out.  Took about ten minutes to make the cross.

I've been working on this tree for a couple of weeks now.  I've made a few more ornaments and have pulled all my crystals out of my drawers to fill it in.  I love it.  Had a difficult time getting a good photo of it, so I added more velvet with Photoshop.  Hope it looks okay online.

R.I.P. Buster

I lost my little familiar today.  He lived a long, (fifteen and a half years) adventurous life.  Don't know what I will do without him.

Christmas Ornament

I made this cool ornament off stuff from my desk.  Never throw out a tiny picture misprint because it just might come in handy some day!
