gel pen mandala

Another gel pen mandala in my antique photo book.

Color choices

Have chosen three of the five new colors for the house.  The perfect taupe for the living room must be the exact shade of the green already there.  Hard to tell a difference, my husband keeps promising that it isn't GREEN!

gelli print greeting card

This card was so easy and I really like it!  Glued a deli paper gelli print to a craft card with a glue stick. Used dollar store double sided tape to pick up another strip of gelli paper and taped it to the inside.  Finished it off by stamping the peace signs and birthday greetings with ranger Archival ink, manganese blue.  Happy Birthday Logan!

empty closet

Not very often you see an empty closet after living in a home for over eight years.  New carpet and paint!  The timing is perfect because I have recently become allergic to every THING!  I'm washing all my cloths in Tide free and clear before I wear them again.

gel pen mandala

I found this great antique photo album at the thrift store.
It will make a perfect mandala journal.

hankie valance

Okay, I'm so sick of this project.  My OCD kicked in when we hung it.  I think I can live with this now.  No guarantees.  I'd like to burn it at this point...

The purple bedroom

 He paints!
 Looks really purple here.
I know, the color looks gray but it is heather plume Behr paint.  I would call it a lilac gray.  Will try to get a better picture of the color tomorrow.  We lost the light.  I'm really excited to hang my art in here!

hankie valance

The camera never lies.  I didn't like the way it looked so I did a little tweaking.  I always say, "put that picture on the internet and you will immediately see what you did wrong".

Hankie curtains

I had my shower curtain all laid out when I remembered that I needed to do a valance for the new lilac grey bedroom!  I had a temporary valance before, but it was just pinned to a piece of lace with old jewelry.  It was beautiful that way until it came time to launder, so decided to baste the hankies directly onto my shears.  It was a little tricky because all my hankies are different sizes.

Used a straight stitch on #5 length.
Pulled my favorites for the valance.

Really happy with the final result.  Left some big holes in my first curtain but there are more hankies where these came from!

Snowy day

I've spent my weekend washing and ironing my collection of silk, lace and hankies.  I've been collecting antique linens with the intent of making something fabulous with them! Pinterest gives me such inspiration!

I had everything laundered and had to buy a new iron.  Then, I discovered the great idea of using shower curtain rings and hangers to store scarfs!  Off to Dollar General for cheap rings.

I'm not sure where I got all this lace but have more in gaudy colors.  Won't that be fun!

Address book

I found this little address book at the thrift store.  I used my seven gypsies journals as an inspiration to alter it.  I used craft paper and a glue stick to put a new cover on it.

Then used Tim Holtz tape to dress up the binding.  (And hide my mistakes.)

Coated with matt medium then used gesso to edge everything in black.
