Here are a few closeups of my arch. I didn't use a brush at all on the rock. I'm sure I will on the pool. I wish I was in that pool right now. Mine is buried under about four inches of snow and ice. I'd show you a picture but I wouldn't even step out the door for a great shot of the ice on the trees the other day. Our first round of winter, oh boy!

Venetian Pool
Ready to block in the steps along the left side. I'm going to leave the railings out.
I've admired an artist from Spain for years, back from the flickr days. Arturo Espinosa. He paints the most amazing pictures with oil and a palette knife. He is so gifted. He also does amazing portraits.

Venetian Pool
Had to break out a plate to use as a palette. Finding that I really do like using a white anything so I can really see the color as I mix. It is a little heavy so as long as I leave it on the RasKog it working fine. The light wasn't great but am painting anyway. Art is a great way to escape and while I'm painting I don't even have to worry that Christmas is just a few days away. I'm not participating this year. Sorry folks.

Winter solstice
Who's idea was it to paint in the dead of winter? The light is so bad, looks like I will be painting on Tuesday and Thursday this week, according to the weather man anyway.
I do have two ott lights but they won't even light this dreary day. Good news is that this is the shortest day of the year so we all can all look forward to more light every day.

Venetian Pool
Having a good time painting with a palette knife. It has been so long since I've seen this pool in person I'm not sure I have the color just right. I like it so, unless my husband takes me back, this will have to do. The texture is probably overboard but I like it too. Using Liquitex acrylics. Wanted to it in oil but could not justify buying all new paint when I had most of these colors already in acrylic.
I told him I needed to go look at it again...he says when? I say now...That was three days ago. I had a few small snap shots and I've pinned a bunch of photos to help me.

Pine drawers
My sweet husband spent the entire weekend building these cool drawers for me. Merry Christmas to me! I got sick of the plastic and these were the perfect size, or so I thought. We needed 30" tall and 15" deep. They were listed at that size but when delivered the box stated right on the front that they were 40" TALL! Shoot. After some thought he told me he could make them work, he didn't tell me it would take him three days. Took me almost that long to transfer my goodies into them. They look great with the pipe shelves he built last summer and now I'm all set to art the winter away.
