walmart fabric

Just a heads up for all you seamstresses out there.  The difference in the quality of fabric from Walmart and Joann's.  I've washed all these about five times.  The purple look like they are three years old!  I paid three dollars a yard on sale for all fabric.  As you can see the Walmart fabric is not a bargain!  Don't waste your money and time at Walmart.  I'm sure I'm the last one to figure this out...

You have to be careful with Joann's inexpensive flannel. I bought a 45" length to make a receiving blanket. Luckily I preshrunk it (in cold water). I needed 40" for my project and that is what it shrank down to. Ten percent shrinkage seems a little high. All six pieces that I bought shrank that much. Buyer Beware!

It was on sale from 7.99. I did wash it all in hot water before sewing. That is a lot of shrinkage!
