I've been sharing birds on my facebook page for only me. Decided to use them as watercolor practice. I'm enjoying it so far.

These were an experiment with color and doodling, mixing all colors together and using them on a page. It is sort of a swatch chart.

 

We bought the house last September, we put in air conditioning this summer. BUT look where they had to put it! According to ALL the men there was no other choice so I let them do it. 

Then I started exploring Pinterest because I had seen awesome air conditioner covers in Europe. How could they think right next to the front door steps would be a good idea? Anyways I thought of a fix and with John's help and more money than I care to admit.

 

I found a supplier in Canada to special order these laser cut metal panels. She worked with me on the design to make the holes smaller.

John did his magic and I really like how this turned out. I can't believe how big and awkward that unit is but do enjoy the air conditioning. Even in Maine, it gets hot in the summer.

Much better! We will plant something pretty under it next summer. Thank you honey! 

stepping stones

 My fireplace inspired this batch of stepping stones. John is going to combine these with my other round stones and add them to the sidewalk.

I made these with pool tiles. I have been dragging those all over the country for the last 15 years. My pool guy in MS came by the house one day with a bunch of old samples he had in his garage. He found out I liked to do mosaic and donated them to me.

 This years flannel pants, wanted to make more but too many ladies around the fabric at Marden's.

needlepoint chairs

Found these beautiful needlepoint chairs on marketplace! Just what I needed to add a little "old" into Lucy's living room. The lady said her grandma did them in the 1930's!

 We had a deck, a huge deck eyesore shaped somewhat like an above ground pool with plastic lattice for the rails.

My husband had a vision.

He used the same hog wire that he made the dog pen with for new rails. Shaved off the awkward parts and the deck is still huge. The dogs love it and so do I! Now you see nature when you are out there instead of plastic lattice! I am trying to get him to put a lid on it so nothing can get my babies out there. I've been reading way too much about fisher cats!
