Garden 2016

Finally found an old fashioned whisk broom for my gardening basket. It'll keep the pool cleaner.
When Bob sings about buckets of rain, I know what he means. I would say we got about 5 inches, wouldn't you?

 First colorburst experiment.

My gelli plate just did not want to work for me this weekend. I think it had something to do with using inks and maybe the fact that I washed them. Brought out the baby oil so hopefully it will accept the paint better tomorrow.

The girls

Meet the new girl, you can see who inspired her dreads Miss Chelsea Rose.  I love her fishnets and paint brushes for arms. She is an artist.

That women next to Maxine may look like a lady but she isn't.

Color burst

I will be glad when I can get my art to look just like the overspray on my desk I love that! I think those colorburst are the coolest thing! So excited to play with them.

colorcharts

I tried to make the following chart just like my others, but somehow this colorburst exploded! #notliketheothers.

A few unfinished journal pages thrown in the mix.

Spiderwort

Stormy weather climbing rose with bottle tree.

Ramone has kept the climbing rose under good control, can't believe how much privacy it will provide for just it's second year.

I stopped hacking my lavender back in the fall when I do my butterfly bush. I had no idea I was doing it all wrong! Don't know how many I have planted over the years but this one is thriving. It does make a great addition to the smudge sticks, so I will harvest just enough.

How is that for some color burst?

The big pot was under water when I went out to plant my moss rose, so the pansy's were drowning! We have had a lot of rain lately and it just doesn't drain well.
When I tipped the pot to drain the water it inspired me to do something creative with it. I've had the hens and chicks for a while and planted them right by the step. Well that was before I got little Riki and he kept stepping on them and hurting his little feets. So, I dug them up and planted a succulent waterfall. Going to add some more moss rose but I love how it turned out. My back is KILLING me now. Can't even get up to get a glass of water. I love that pot, it reminds me of a witches cauldron.

Fish prints

I need a lot of practice but this will be so fun. I thought I would use these on the gelli plate but they are actually a gelli all in their self. I did use the small gelli plate to ink the small ones. Almost ruined the whole school last night by trying them with acrylic paint! +_+ Lucky I had a pan of soapy water near by so didn't. The lines are very faint and only show up with ink. The less ink the better. Like I said I need to practice.

Stormy weather climbing rose

The rose lived up to it's name and bloomed like crazy after our last storm. The girl is holding up really well considering she is over ten years old. Her face is showing the time but that happens to all of us.

The flowers are pretty but can't wait to see them with the pool as the backdrop. Don't want to open it before my pool boy is up to the task after his surgery on his shoulder. I may have to start taking applications soon...

Gyotaku haul!

Look what came from Amazon.com today! My Gyotaku fish replicas for the gelli plate! I'm very excited!

The wonderful lady that runs the local flower place made these beautiful pieces of pottery and was selling them for way too cheap. So beautiful and can't wait until she opens her coffee shop and has time to make more!
Maxine has been making friends. Will update when they are ready for company.
