Had some fun this week with this patron bottle my friend Judy gave me. Full of special energy.

water color

There is something to the idea of painting the same thing over and over again. I can see my improvement. Top picture is the latest attempt.

Had some fun this week with metallic markers and a plaster skull from Michael's. It is so heavy you would not believe.  Primed it first with black gesso.

praying mantis

Jazzed up water color practice today. I hate school and bugs but really enjoy drawing and painting them. Love this background but over worked the spirals. Starting to get fun.

butterfly

I really like how these two butterflies turned out! Gives me hope about watercolor.
I liked this filter also.

beginner watercolor

I've been enjoying combining neurographic art with water color lessons. Have painted with watercolor for years and never watched a "how to" you tube video. Well, it hasn't worked out for me. I still can't watercolor, not like I want anyway. Took my first week of lessons on cheap paper so now I am basically starting over with 100% cotton paper. They say the paints and water work differently on the cotton paper. Even though I have collected at least five pads of this expensive arches cold press 300gm 140 lb paper it is against everything in me to use it for lessons. My husband told me to use it and that if I run out he will buy me some more. So silly I know. I'm not preciouis with my stuff and eat off the fine china everyday. Just have a thing about this paper! Maybe that is why I've never been sucessful.

neurographic art

Was so relaxing to practice my watercolor on these neurographic pieces. This actually works and new ideas come to you while you are drawing your new neuron connections.

Hide the ugly

I covered an eyesore in our downstairs bath and laundry. The burlap is from a couple of feed sacks I bought at Tuesday morning. So sorry to hear they are closing. I moved away and they had none in Maine. Must be why they failed. We just used a tension shower curtain pole to hang it, so no worries there. I have always had a thing for feed sacks.

Then had some great fun working on my lampshade for the studio. I am loving it.
