I learned to knit socks on the magic loop

It took forever to learn to knit at my old age but I finally figured it out and have knitted five pair so far. They are nice and thick to get me through this winter in Maine. More like slipper socks for the around the house but they look really cute with my birkenstocks. I have yet to knit the perfect sock...so disturbing but they are cute and totally wearable.

I didn't use sock yarn because I wanted 100% cotton and could only find worsted weight. Now that I actually know what I am doing I will do some more shopping for yarn.

Going to make a flannel shirt out of the purple with the green as a contrast for inside the cuffs. It was a happy accident that I already have some socks to match!

So sick of facebook and know I should start an instagram, Does anyone even read blogs anymore?

Hankie shower curtain

After collecting old hankies for years and years I finally got a moment to use them to sew a cool shower curtain for my new bath! I love how it turned out and it feels so good to have this project out of my head and into fruition.

I thought I would be able to work the design off the floor, good thing I took a picture because Lucy ran through it several times before I gave up and picked them up. It went together pretty easy although they aren't the same size. I sewed them dircectly onto a voile and lace shower curtain I bought. It wasn't long enough so when I got to the bottom I added a row of lace to keep it somewhat the same length.

Neurographic Art

Exploring neurographic art this week. I've done three and the last looked just like the second so found a bird in there to switch it up. This is a great meditation and I would recommend everyone to try it.

Before I found that I made this mandala out of a big M. Equally as fun and relaxing. I guess I have been doing "neurographic art" all along.

Mind, body and soul

I've been enjoying doing fun art this year! Fussy cut my flower doodles and put them in my Maine journal. I love it!  The doodles inspired me to start a long painting on canvas. Using acrylic and chalk paints on this project.

new bath

My art dolls and I are thrilled to have the new bathtub installed! It has been a long haul, I took pictures from the begininng but all I want to see is this!

  • The sink has running water but still waiting for the mirror/medicine cabinet. The shower is tiled and ready for the plumbing fixtures.  My husband is truely a master of all trades! I feel so lucky! He has worked so hard on this project and also worked his job.

Homegrown smudge stick

Had some fun today with my "homegrown" smudge sticks. I planted a small herb garden near the back steps to help keep ticks off my dogs. White sage, lavender, rosemary, geranium and zinnia for the flowers. The intention was to harvest and make these. Hopefully next year my plants will be a little bigger and I can make more. I gifted my neighbor one because she gave me some pink columbine seeds last spring. Can't wait to see those!
