Had a great day at the flea market today. The copper pieces were a real find for under 10 bucks. And enough spoons to make chimes until my heart is content. And the old raffle tickets are really special as they have Kansas City on them. My hometown.

I've scratched off most the glitter on this project. I walk by it fifteen times a day. Love it now. Before it was WAY TOO MUCH. What can I say. I had just scored Martha's 24 glitter pack.

Added a few keys this time. I love this and it sounds cool too. Cannot believe the large crystals made it through the storm. Click on picture for close up shot.

I think I have about five different chimes in my head.

Going to start with this set. Notice the picture of them the first time I made them. Katrina just added to the patina. Right?

Katrina did a number on my chimes. These are not all I had. John and I had made a copper set that were my favorite. I could not find them. So today. I'm going to remake them. I've been thinking about this project all summer.

morning glory

The day started beautiful. Quickly turned to disappointment. John closed the pool. Buster was the first and last one in the pool this year. He and I are ready to head south.

9-11 twin towers

I took this photo myself in August on 1974. So sad. I had to call my Dad after 911 and ask him if I was dreaming or if this was a real memory. The week I was in New York visiting my Aunt Pauline we saw the Frenchman walking the tightrope between the two towers. I think you can see the tightrope if you enlarge the photo. Another big memory of this trip was seeing that President Nixon had resigned by reading the ticker around Time Square. Yeah!

I can't wait to play with my new purchases. Black gesso, gel pens and watercolor crayons. Told my husband that granny crayons are EXPENSIVE!
