Creative chaos

New beginnings.  I bought this wire lantern thingy at the pool store for fifteen bucks.  I'm going to make it into chimes.  Buster refuses to let me use the million dollar grooming devise so I use it for chime making.

My studio is a wreck!  But I am totally inspired.

Spent yesterday using the dishwasher to distress my aluminum.  My husband wasn't real thrilled but no harm done.

I use a plastic tray to gather any items that might make it special.  I can then return the drawers after each project and have the tray for the next project.

I have so many projects going at once the studio is a mess!

Tabled but not forgotten.  This is what I really want to work on but trying to heal the knot in my shoulder.  Wish I could figure out how to paint those baby heads without holding it with the other hand.  I guess I need to pace myself and not do it for forty eight hours straight.

Chime parts and pool basket.

These bells are ready to hang.

birdhouse chimes

Went a little crazy last night and wired up this chime. Love the natural birdhouses, added chimes to each house. Then used a bunch of fishing tackle I found at a sale one day to wire them together. Perfect lengths. Blackened all the metals to make it a little more cohesive.

Three chimes

Hoping that I have all my chimes made by the time John gets another day off. This is what I have come up with so far.

Beatles Chime

Had a great time with this project. With John's help we turned my Beatles chimes into something special. I have been collecting pieces for this project since the storm. I found some parts of my Beatles chime but it was mangled.

I came up with the design and he made it happen. Drilled holes and screwed the whole thing together. I added the crystals and beads. Found the chain at my local bead store, it was EXpensive. But, it is all in the details. Right? Not sure if it still plays Hey Jude but it sounds pretty too. Double click on the pictures for detail.

Added a few keys this time. I love this and it sounds cool too. Cannot believe the large crystals made it through the storm. Click on picture for close up shot.

I think I have about five different chimes in my head.

Going to start with this set. Notice the picture of them the first time I made them. Katrina just added to the patina. Right?
