2011
I should talk about this tree...tell her story. We moved here in 2006 and it was almost dead. The builder had put it in the ground and I had to cut the top off of it because it was a goner. So look at her NOW!
We spent tons of money at Instant shade for the tree on the right a few years later. The house was hot and we bought this huge tree for hundreds of dollars hoping to save on air conditioning. The original tree decided it would make a comeback and with the same watering and fertilizer caught up with the other tree and seems to be the exact same variety. October Glory Maple. So pretty out there. I would recommend Instant Shade to anybody and so glad to see them both in full glory.

live oak framing
John helped me frame and hang the live oak print today. I was nervous but it worked out fine. The first picture is the back of the barn wood frame. Isn't that cool with the can lids? Junk art.
Here are a few shots of the process. I made so many hot glue stencils and printed so many trees that I'm not even sure if I framed the correct one. If I liked the tree I wouldn't like the background or visa versa. I am very critical of my stuff.

Live Oak Alcohol Ink Gelli Print
FINALLY! I have been working on this Live Oak print for months. I've filmed the "great reveals" on quite a few really bad prints! Quit that shit a while ago because it got embarrassing.
I never gave up. I ran out of ink in a couple of colors. I made new with sharpies and 91% alcohol. That worked great! I pulled prints on water color paper and card stock, then went to Michael's for a pad of printing paper. I printed the entire PAD!
This is the LAST piece of that pad and either I'm just drunk on the fumes or I LIKE IT! I won't share the fails at this point, just take my word for it. This has been a challenge and I feel pretty good right now!
Art heals.
