Finally finished the shaman charm for my jean jacket. Calling the coat done for now but I'm sure I will add stuff and work on filling in all the flowers. Love this project and can't wait to wear it! Well, I have been wearing it but haven't worn it with the jewelry.

It's almost 2am so I'm going to put the coat down and go to bed. Getting closer to having the center done on the passion flower.

Slow cloth...I enjoy embroidery but I do it for way too long each setting. I like to see some progress and it takes hours sometimes to see anything, then I pull it out.

Finally got back to my jacket today. I can see the passion coming out of that flower!

My fingers are bloody raw from working on the center of this flower! Ouch, if I had only placed it slightly to the left I wouldn't be sewing through that darn double seam pocket again! 

I'm considering using applique  to finish off the petals. I have some great fabrics that would be cool.

This lampshade needed to be sealed because it was a huge dust magnet. Instead of dust it now has a peacock feather stuck to it!

 Interesting story about this picture of my husband's grandpa (standing to the right of the guy with the vest).

One of John's Dad's friends found it at an antique shop and noticed the family name so it bought it for him. Amazing I think. He was born in Emporia but the picture was found in Olathe.

Stayed up until 3am working on this passion flower and barely got the outline done. Sure hope it turns out because that pocket is a bitch to embroider on!

no more Necco

 Ate the entire tube in one setting even though I should have hoarded them. Necco has closed until further notice! Tell me it isn't so.

Finally decide to drip passion vine down the right front portion of the jean jacket. The rick rack reminds me of a trellis.

Added another detail to my jean jacket, my fingers are so sore! That is about six layers of denim and rick rack. Ouch.

I want to add a few climbing flowers but need a rest. I have been going through my beads and have found some cute little accents.

 I used a old pad of paper to sketch each flower as I made my flora tarot by mic.

Then, I used those sketches for inspiration on my jean jacket.

So, I had all those little pieces of paper.

I thought about making one huge piece of art but then decided to use a glue stick to fill the dylusion journal I have been hoarding for just the right moment.

 I'm going to use it as a homemade coloring book for all the gel pen and markers I have been hoarding. I have a few coloring books but hate wasting the ink on them. Not that mine are great but I think this is a good place to keep my original work. I wish I had put them in a journal from the beginning but maybe I will next time.

Added a few odds and ends I had sketched on this little pad. I love the color of the paper and the way it absorbed the Rapidograph ink. I'm sure it will disintegrate but won't be the first time I made art and it didn't last.

The jacket is in honor of all the textile art I did over the years. Gone but not forgotten.
