water color zinnia

I watched my friends water color on line for weeks before I could even begin to figure it out. I think I'm starting to get it.

So, I've been listening to Van Morrison...where was I back in the day. He is amazing! Into the Mystic! Wow! I guess there was SO much great music back then I just missed it.

We had a dog named Domino so that was the theme song at our house.

Jean jacket refashion

Miss Lucy is so fluffy and beautiful.

Can you see the ball chain I sewed on between the rhinestones above the pocket? I like the look but will probably need to work on it a bit tomorrow to make them lay better. I also sewed some pink rhinestones across the back of the collar. Not sure I like that.

Removed the pink from the bleeding hearts this morning. I add stuff one day and remove it the next. Notice the dorset button in the center of the blue flower. I got a few of them in Austria last summer. They are so cool and and something I had never heard of.  They remind me of a flat temari.

My thread is dwindling and I'm not even close to being done. I really want it to be tricked out.

Jean jacket refashion

John cut me a bouquet of the last of the zinnia's for the season. It was painful to see them go but he needs to close the pool next day off, so he cleared the bed this morning. A little secret, he is my flower arranger. I cannot do it! Tried for years but he has that touch. Ha.
Finished the embroidery on the butterfly hankie and sewed it to the jean jacket. I like it but the coat needs more bling of course. I have more rhinestones to add and want to do some more embroidery on coat itself.

I like the way the bottom of the butterfly follows the line of the jacket. I attached it along the top edge but left the bottom loose. It hangs really nice.

garden 2017

It has been really hot but we have both forgotten and left the soaker hose on for days in the back bed, hence the fabulous display of zinnias and cosmos.  The hens and chicks are huge!
