Flannel pant cuff lesson

This post is for my own information. I have made, I don't know how many pairs of these flannel pants but still had to deconstruct an old pair yet again to figure out the cuff.
Turn under 1/4" with wrong sides together and iron.
Then turn again two inches with wrong sides together and iron.
Top stitch at top of hem.
Fold hem back 1 1/2" with right sides together which forms the cuff and iron.
Top stitch top and bottom edges.

Looks simple enough, right? Duh.

silk!

Italian silk

Finally got all my thrifted silk scarves washed and just had to share pictures. (They are not all made of silk) Rather than spread them over the entire house I had the great idea of displaying them in my bead drawers!

I want to do so many projects with these I don't even know where to start. Joined a sewing room idea facebook group and can't wait to have it all in ONE room! From the comments I'm not the only sewist dreaming of nirvana this winter.

 The rest of the collection!

perfume bottles

Had a great time junking last week. I found this round mirror and a few more small perfume bottles for my collection. Adds another layer to my display and I LOVE IT!

BIG score on the clear labels. I love to use them with my antique typewriter.

tramp art matchstick mandala

Just a little more smoothing with my tiny iron in the morning and this will be done. I love the smell of that beeswax and the wonderful texture it adds to my projects. I used it as a grout here.

tramp art matchstick mandala

I now wear gloves when working on this because of the splinters. Hope I don't melt my finger tips. I will be careful, actually I need to put a bowl of water on my desk even though I'm using little pliers on the shorties.
I messed it up so had to redo before bed!
Then I had to do the other side. Still some sticky taped areas not sure what to do with.

matchstick art

Worked on this  March mandala last night and then on my matchstick art. Both very meditative.
