Journal play

I really enjoy painting from photos that I take of flowers. I took this photo on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO. It was a small water feature with a pansy floating in it.

Brand new using watercolors so forgive me, (if you even can even call it watercolor after using gesso). Hoping to get much better at letting the paint and water move on it's own.

I absolutely LOVE the Ken Oliver Color burst! So interesting to sprinkle and then I used the  pill palette with a tiny wet brush for a completely different look. Fun! In my opinion I have overworked this page. Maybe I should watch some more you tube videos.

Ken Oliver pill palette

Does this look like an OCD person spent the entire day making this pill palette for my color burst? Well, that is exactly what happened and it makes me so HAPPY just to look at it!

I made one a few weeks ago and decided to put liquid inks on one end. Proceeded to tip the sob first night and ruined it!

So, ordered some more Ken Oliver and washed the mess and started over. This one turned out really well because I had practiced.

Another color burst

It seems that the color burst and my zinnia garden are a good match! As I said, I'm going to spend the winter painting my beautiful zinnia garden.

Watercolor palette pill dispenser

Had so much fun altering this pill dispenser into a watercolor palette.  Need to get ALL the colors of the color burst but in the meantime I filled my extra spots with distress ink. Tim says they will dry and I can re-wet with my water brush.
