Occupied Japan China

Christmas came early this year! Found this China on facebook today. A friend from high school posted about her mother having a barn sale. My sweet husband stopped by after work and bought it for me. She gave me a wonderful deal and I feel like a new bride. Have always wanted a set and at fifty five I've waited a long time. So worth it. Going to eat off it every day and going to start drinking green tea so I can use the cup and saucer too. Her mother was pretty horrified that I plan on using it but life is too short for "good dishes".

Here is another shot of my "chandelier". Pretty huh? I haven't been able to sleep for two weeks. Wrapping all those antique necklaces into chains made my carpel tunnel act up. Click photo's to enlarge.

More crystal chains

Added some more crystals and chain to my "chandelier". Love it! Best part about this project is I can unhook it and wear it anytime I want. Two, two projects in one.

crystal chain

The chain is so subtle that you can't tell it took me three days to wire it. Ugh. I may have to add even more.

crystal reflection

I caught this magical reflection on a spent pansy petal this morning. The sun was shining through a crystal and made this awesome color combination. Love.

Man. I am tired. It's 1:15am. I just wanted to say that I am going to make two more drops to go with this one and hang them on my dining room light. My version of a chandelier.
I finally got to sit down this evening and do art. I feel much better. Spent all day yesterday doing the spring cleaning. I'm telling ya. First time the whole house has been clean in forever. The older I get the less I enjoy cleaning. Actually I HATE to freakin' clean. So I just do as least as possible every day. It is a never ending job anyway.

Okay, back to the crystal project. I'm so excited about this first drop I hope I can sleep. Isn't it cool? I wired an african trading bead with some brass washers and bead caps. Then add some cool charms to the chains with the crystals. I'm really liking the sparkle with the earthy.
