Zinnia

I am going to do a series of zinnias on square canvas. Have a good start on the first one. Excited to paint again and enjoy it. So fun to look through all my photos of the flowers I've grown over the years. I envision a different type of zinnia and color on each.

Had a late start on the flower beds this year. We managed a late season trip to the garden center and I found some large pots of zinnia. Added some herbs for tick control and have a nice little bed to look at everyday. So glad I did, good for the soul. My lavender from last year was really nice and I had a few plants come up from the seeds I sprinkled early. Excited to fill the bed next year.

Back in the flow and so glad to be here.

Smudging

Warmed up just a little bit today so opened the house up and smudged with my homegrown lavender and sage stick.  I've been wanting to do that for a while but it has been really cold.

Discovered that we had three times the healthy radon level in the house. I swear I feel 100% better since my husband installed the "radon mitigation system."  I asked him to be a guest blogger and tell the people how, but he said he wasn't interested.  I love that he can fix ANY THING I need fixed.  I got to drive a 1966 Mercedes Benz  for years just because he could fix it.  I loved that car, it was really hard to drive, 4 speed on the column.  It honked the horn when turning left.
I like the morning glory and the passion flower, the rest look really bad to me.  Practice practice practice. Inktense pencils.

These baskets of fresh washcloths make the OCD in me so happy!  I just can't tell you.

Last years lavender and smudge stick.

Grandma's big gardening knife.

Got this pot tower idea on pinterest.  Love how it turned out and now the small pot on the top is useful again.  I found it too small to keep anything alive it in and when I saw the idea I knew it would solve my problem.

This all came back from last year.

smudge sticks

I trimmed my smudge sticks. Love the smell. Going to smudge the whole house again. On Halloween!

smudge sticks

Natures bounty. I made my own smudge sticks this morning with sage and lavender. Only trimmed one for burning. They are so beautiful I did not have the heart to trim the others. Intended to use my "Russian Sage" but after some research found out that is not a true sage. And, OH MY, it smells VERY strong. Want cleanse the house not fight demons.

My neighbor tied hers with red string the true native American way. She is trying to sell her house. I used the blue and yellow hemp. I chopped the Victoria Blue Salvia and Lavender about 12 inches long. Encased the lavender in the sage. The Indians used white sage. Next year I will try to find that.
