table top ironing board

Stopped my pj project to make this table top ironing board.  So easy, don't know why I did not do it before.
Used two layers of cotton batting and some muslin for the top. The base is a sink cutout from a counter top.  A little heavy but that is probably a good thing.

I think this will work out great.  My aunt Nita Lou taught me that your iron is your best friend when sewing.

peace pj's

I used a homemade mask and a peace stencil for this shirt.  After a lot of practice I found if I put the large mask down first then the small stencil on top, for some reason, knocked the little peace signs back.  I'm not sure how that works but I'm glad I did some experimenting on another surface.  Sprayed with tumble dye.  Cut a freezer paper mask and rubber stamped the peace sign with a text stamp.  Three layers.  Maybe more coming.  I actually was trying to work on a completely different shirt but had this idea in my mind so here ya go.  Now maybe I can go back to my shibori shirt without throwing peace signs at it.  Ha.
Little Riki had to spend the day at the vet to be neutered.  He is home safe but still in pain.  My poor baby.  I tried to keep my mind busy working on my next set of pj's.  Good thing I bought an extra yard of each fabric because I cut the first side out UPSIDE down. Dang!

Belly bands

Picked up more flannel at JoAnn's.  Three bucks a yard.

Made Riki some new belly bands out of some nice french jersey.  I lined this batch with cotton batting and he must of thought that was pretty cool because he peed all three in the first hour.  What a brat.  I need to find a smaller bell.  He is not getting the potty outside thing.  I had a bell but it scared him because it was too big.
The green are the new batch.  I'm getting much better.  The first batch look like a 4th grader made them.

art clothes

I finally got the nerve to make a pair of pj pants.  So easy thanks to http://mycottoncreations.blogspot.com/2010/07/christmas-eve-pajama-pants-tutorial.html.  They fit and turned out so well I can't wait to go to walmart and buy some more flannel!  I have three shirts and only one new pair of pants.

I've been wearing white tshirts to art in for years and have recently become allergic to bleach!  So...I'm slowly but surely making me some art clothes.  I am so tired of black and white...

Inktense tshirt

Riki and i finished the t shirt.  I decided to spray the whole thing with white vinager before I washed it, hoping it would not fade as much as my last two.  It helped.  I learned what not to do on this shirt.  I really wish I would have painted this elephant on a canvas and planned something else to wear.  I'm not sure a women of my size should go around wearing an elephant.  Ha.  I can't wait to try it on!  I'm sure the eye is misplaced.  I had plans of making sure it was in the right place but sometimes when I finally start working on a project that has been in my head for years, spills out frantically and one eyed elephants are created!  So excited to have gel pen for t shirts!  Worked great.

first haircut

Riki and I watched this storm pass by after his first haircut.  He was such a good dog I'm hoping he looks okay.  Much cuter long but he had some puppy fuzz that had to be cut off.  I'll post a few more photos after his bath.  I can't get enough pictures of him.  I hold him on my lap and look at pictures of him.  Ha.  Can't wait to see what color his adult coat is going to be.  The brown around his face only shows in pictures.  His white patch on his chest is almost gone.  I've read that their coat can change dramatically.

painted t shirt

Riki has been helping me with my latest project.  By helping, I mean laying on the spot I'm trying to work on.  He is so cute!
