buttons

Okay, I found the buttons I was going to use on my chair after I sewed the peace signs on. I also found this random arm...Should I use them (the buttons) or should I continue to spread some peace around? 

I was trying this basket out for size for a new desk bed for Riki. He was not amused and I guess he was afraid to move because when I started to pick him up he kicked off big time. Ha. I'm surprised he didn't knock my ink color wheel right off the desk.

I'm so excited to have an original "Chelsea Rose" art can! You would not believe the color in real life! Maybe Portland would be a good place to retire, then I could drive around town and see her big art murals and benches. Yeah, Portland. Thank you Chelsea I love it! I placed it in the purple blue section of the studio.

Me and my chair

 This is the latest version of the top front. I was able to make another trip to JoAnn's and picked up some more of the fabrics I've been working with. I was going to redo the back but after ironing it I like it so will use my extra fabric for a desk bed for Riki. Hit a great 4th of July sale and replaced my fat quarters for half the price! I love a deal!

dying doilies

Riki wanted me to hold him the other day so I dyed these doilies with one hand and held little Riki with the other. He got spooked a few times and I got a neck ache but the doilies turned out great! Wanted to sew today but they are saying it is going to rain all weekend so went outside instead. My flower bed is out of control, I've worked out there two days have only gotten to the second canna. Ramone said he would help me.

All done, only took me a month. It could fit a little better but I'm tired of working on it. Really happy with the randomness. I think I pulled it all together. Fun project if you like to sew...

Lucille chair

The chair has turned into a "Lucille" chair. I tore the skirt off and re-made the skirt with my serger. In the meantime I broke out the free motion thingy and am teaching myself to use it on this project. The arm covers are so cute but as you can see my free motion skills are lacking. Since the skirt is off I am going to free motion on the seat also. So that is where the Lucille comes in...OCD sewing. Lucille was my grandmother and did everything really well, except family. A lot like Martha I would say. I don't care how bad it is because I am learning. But there is no way I could live with the messed up skirt. It'll look a lot better when I'm done!

Gathered some Columbine seeds for my art mail I sent this week. Gellied the backgrounds for the fish but then had to mount them inside because they disappeared when I tried to layer them.
