I'm going to try my new pencils out on this canvas.  I can always paint over if it doesn't turn out.

Picked up a canvas for my big gold frame.  I hate a blank canvas.

Dr. Ruppel clematis.  Used my new ink pencils.  Very vivid colors.

Finally found the bed.  I think the valance looks good with the quilts.  Really need to paint this room purple and make some art for the walls.

Click on the pictures for detail.

I used vintage earrings and fastened these hankies to my shears.  Love it!  Had to do forty two loads of laundry before I could get to this project.  I wanted to wash the curtains first.  Going to keep my eye out for both to add to this valance.  For a no sew project this is really cute.

Toned the feathers down a lot and now it is finished.  Loved this project.  This hex sign replaces the one I lost in the storm.  My "hex" mother in law gave it to me probably 35 years ago.  I kept it around much longer than I did her son.  So, I guess in that way it did bring me luck.   Ha!

  • wilkum - welcome
  • two distlefinks - double happiness and good fortune
  • heart within a heart - i can't remember but of course it means love
  • wavy border - smooth sailing through life
  • twelve pointed rosette - a joyous month for each month of the year, keep away evil and bad luck
  • circle - eternity or infinity
  • black - protection
  • blue - protection, peace, and calmness
  • green - growth
  • orange - abundance in career, projects
  • yellow - heath in body and mind, love of man and the sun
  • red - emotions, passion, lust, and creativity
  • white - purity, power of the moon
  • lilac - i've forgotton that one too.

I'm not sure this is done but putting a picture on line always helps me make up my mind.  :)

Ramon' planted these trees out by the pool last week.  They look small compared to the new trees in front.  The dogwood is outside the kitchen window and the redbud will provide some morning shade by the pool.

Before before.

Before and after tree.  We called "Instant Shade" and boy they weren't kidding!  We are really happy with this tree and his baby brother to the left.  The big daddy is an Autumn Blaze Maple and the smaller is an October Glory Maple.  My husband is 6'4" so this tree is REALLY tall!

Still painting on my distlefinks.  They mean double good fortune and happiness.

Found this tin for a buck at a sale last weekend.  Perfect for this Wilkum sign I've been wanting to do.  I've found out all kinds of interesting things about this hex sign.  The first being the name and that they are witchy.  I also have several others I've made unknowingly.  The bead hurricanes are "what goes around comes around" which I totally believe.  And I made another that is a hex symbol.

Latest graduation card.  Used photo shop then distressed it a little more by hand.
