gelli print journal page

I had such a blast printing with my knox gelatine plate during the blizzard!

I gathered many papers to print with and really like the prints that came from packing paper.  Funny how things like that turn out.  Tells me I need to experiment more.

Thought this page was a disaster after adding gold.  But found myself choosing the prints I thought were failures yesterday for my first journal page.  Hmmm?

This plate is history.  Only got two uses out of it.  I am going to get my grandson to help me make a new one this weekend so he can experience the JOY of printing!

SNOW

This is last weeks snow.  They forcast even more today.  12 to 15 inches.

key chain

Got to use my new jewelry tools to make a new keychain.

This is what I've come up with so far.  I told my husband it was a 68 dollar keychain.  I found a few other goodies.

gelli prints

knox gelli plate

Time to get busy and make this gelly plate myself.  My husband is too busy at work and I can't wait any longer.
I watched the videos on you tube.  Thank you ladies.

Important step was to dissolve gelatin in cold water then add hot.

She suggested using strips of newspaper to first get rid of bubbles in the bowl.  Then after pouring drag them across to remove any air pockets.  So easy!  Can't believe I've been waiting for weeks.  I'm not a great cook.

Let it set up on the counter for a few hours then the fridge.  After it was solid I covered it.  Another gal commented that the one she madedried up on her because she didn't know you had to cover it.

Drizzled golden acrylic paint and rolled it out with an ink roller.  After looking at my results I think I used WAY too much paint!  Oh well.  Live and learn.

Got out my stencils and went to town.

Chickens

Had to have some fun with the headmasters.  Ha.

Knox gelatine

Stopped at my local thrift store when I got my haircut.

I'm all set to make a gelli plate.  Well, actually I'm waiting for my husband make the plate so I can make some PRINTS!

These were strange rubber bat coasters.  I'm going to see what kind of image I get using one as a stamp.

facebook rant

Note to self.  Wait to add color after you zentangle.  I think I have ruined all my pens trying to tangle over my inktense pencils.  They must have some wax in them.  The girls face is a transfer from the office depot coupon I got in the mail.  It worked pretty good.  So I am just going to turn the page even though it seems so unfinished to me.  I printed my facebook rant and used it to make my circles.
