gelli print pink moon

I hit 17,000 views on my blog today!  Woo hoo!  Thanks everyone.

Got inspired by the pink moon with this page.  The moon is a gelli print I pulled the other day.

final edie

What did I tell you.  Nothing speaks louder than a photo on your art blog!  Plucked her eyebrows and gave her some mascara.  Going to move on but glad I tried the portrait.  Thanks for the encouragement Billy.

Little Edie

Did her eyes again.  Not sure if this is done but will know as soon as I post.

little edie

My brother the portrait artist pointed out a problem with her eye.  I think this is a little better.

Little Edie

I found this image of little Edie online.  Everyone has been trying faces so I decided to give it a go.  I like it except she lost a few years in my rendition.  Wrinkles are hard to paint.

Got brave and did some gelli printing right on the page.  Then used more gelli print papers to fill the background and make the flowers.  I used a white gel pen to dress the flowers up and write quotes as part of my background.  Little Edie was an amazing women and I am forever changed by finding out about her and her mom big Edie.  I watched the documentary many times and learn something new every time I watch.

fear

I have that blank page fear doubled!  This journal is so beautiful I'm afraid I am going to ruin it!

five chalices

I'm not sure why I did two of the same thing.  Weird.  I was inspired by a door picture on pinterest.  Hmmm?

light blue purple gelli print

Printed on to a page from the play "Taming of the Shrew".  Used the same stencil and paint color and printed on one ply napkins.  Love they way they melt into the background when glued down with Matt medium.  This is the inside cover of the yearbook so I left it as is.

Children of the Corn

We finally are seeing a few signs of spring here in Missouri.  We had blizzard after blizzard this winter.  It was beautiful but come on spring!
