Hurricane hell
Just a few photos to show what a hurricane can do to a perfect little life...Katrina 2005. They say she invited Ida to her 16th!

coloring
I'm not sure what to paint next so have been doodling. That is so fun compared to the "real art". I play scrabble and draw little flowers, decided to show because this is about all I've been doing.

Henri
It is August and hurricane season, here comes Henri! Can't lie, I have some left over fear from past storms. We should be okay here in Maine. Dang, you would think...
The neighbor dropped off some heirloom tomatoes she grew!Thursday, August 19, 2021

Hair shirt
I removed my "hair shirt" in the studio! What was I thinking? Put all your watercolor fails right on the wall so you have to look at that shit everyday for two years...great idea!
I'm not sure what I was thinking, something vague like...you will get better if you look at it...you used to keep EVERY piece in the closet....don't do that.

zinnia painting
Still working on this little painting. Really is much more fun than struggling with watercolor. Only draw back so far is PAINT all over my new t shirts! I ordered way too many new brushes on Amazon the other day. They won't be here until the 12th....I really only needed a couple but lost all control. Not sure which I enjoy more, doing the art or buying the art supplies?

I've added a couple of antiques to the tv room. This is a victorian game table that opens up and has two drawers. Very nice shape. It has been refinished.
This is a great sewing cabinet that has two drawers also.
A couple of shots of the plant room. Lucy got a new basket for her bed
We are having so much fun bringing life back into this old house. It had sat empty for seven years before we moved in. I love decorating with my art and supplies. The plants are doing great and fill a need in me to garden.

Zinnia
Had a late start on the flower beds this year. We managed a late season trip to the garden center and I found some large pots of zinnia. Added some herbs for tick control and have a nice little bed to look at everyday. So glad I did, good for the soul. My lavender from last year was really nice and I had a few plants come up from the seeds I sprinkled early. Excited to fill the bed next year.
Back in the flow and so glad to be here.

Winsor & Newton water mixable oil paint chart
Had way too much fun setting up my new palette and doing this color chart! Stumbled onto the Teskey Brothers and experienced them for the first time while playing with my paint!
Buckeye Butterfly
I've officially given up on watercolor...I'm not a quitter but I just wasn't getting any better.
I'm excited because now I can do art again. It was ruining my art time because I just wasn't happy with most attempts.
Pulled out my water soluble oil paints and had a great time painting this little buck eye! I love how it turned out!
Low odor and easy clean up. And best of all, doesn't look like a ten year old painted it.
