galvanized storage

Spent the entire day sorting lamp parts for my assemblage art. Bought all this brass for so cheap that I couldn't pass it up, I'm sure I will find a way to use it. Hell, I should go into the lamp making business with all these parts I now own. My aunt Nita Lou would have loved this haul! Problem is, I had it sorted and stored at the bottom of my craft closet. 

So...I hit Hobby Lobby on Christmas Eve and picked up all these galvanized containers and also the cart at 50% off to help store it. I had thought about a solution for quite a while and had pre-shopped all but the cart, it worked really well. Lots of bins with lots of cool stuff to sift through. It is all so heavy so the small containers make it work well. Wasn't cheap but it was half price. Ha. Merry Christmas to me!

Made me a couple minutes late to the family holiday which my Dad didn't like one bit.  But, it helped me get my mind off the fact I had to attend the family affair. 

It was fun and my cousin gave me some premium products for making cards. Pearl Ex Series 2 AND two jars of molding paste. I think I was with her when she bought it! Also a really cool bottle. FUN! Thanks Terri JO! She had a great story about her granddaughter and a fishing bear.

6" round gelli plate

I worked on my collage so long it hurt my neck then I played with my new gelli plates until my back gave out.  Had these prints on my desk from the other day and then Patti Tolley Parrish inspired me to do a painted page for ATC's.  I'm not done with it yet but wanted photo's at this stage.  I missed half her stream so really have no idea what I'm doing but it sure is fun!

Check out the paint cart!  Really handy and I'm pleased with the quality of the wheels.

Ganesha Stamp Collage

I had to move the big canvas to another spot because it is killing my back.  I think I remember why I don't work big anymore.

So, that meant I had to move my printer, scanner, computer and cable box.  Not that any of that stuff was actually in the way but I did have to move a bead box on the desk.  My husband, the electrician hasn't had time to fix my wires, for at least two years, anyway I've learned from listening to him talk about work and how he marks things for quick troubleshooting, so I got busy with my washi tape, Tim Holtz tape, electrical tape, highlighter tape, and my grandson's kid tape to mark that friggin mess of wires so I could move my printer!  Guess which one stuck?  Yep, the kid's tape.  Tim Holtz did not adhere for a minute and the highlighter tape disappeared and then came off while I was on the floor trying to tape things as I boldly unplugged wires.  I now know why my husband didn't have time to fix the mess, working in a narrow space with cigar boxes and crates needing to be dusted as I worked it was a big mess.  He came home before I was done, so of course we had a few words. I hit my head twice after losing my temper when he went out to mow.   All this after posting today the Dali Lama's story about anger on facebook.  I did not even remember watching the video this morning until washing my hair in the shower and feeling the painful bumps on my temple. He also said that anger comes from fear and he is right again.  With all the unrest in the country my husband is traveling to Detroit next week for work and I'm not comfortable with that.  I get really busy organizing wires and boxes and stuff when I'm stressed out.  It is the OCD in me.

I actually worked on my collage too!  Check out that purple ear!  Having so much fun with this and can't wait to spend the entire week zoned out Ganesha style.  The stamps are easier to work with than tile as in a traditional mosaic but the size is problematic.  It would help if I didn't have to work with and without my glasses each stamp.  Time consuming for sure.  I want so bad to start the beeswax but know that I need to finish the gluing first.  

I guess I have some sort of series going on.

Added curtains and some of my art back into the craft room.  Can't believe I left the Elvis collage in the basement for almost a year.  The clowns are glad to be back together.  They were scaring the little children in the foyer.  Ha!

I moved my desk and even more supplies to the dining room.  I am embarrassed to say this is just my storage area.  I have even more crap in there.  Stuff I use every day.  My sweetie is going to build me a sewing table to keep in here.  We bought a cool base at a flea market a few months back.

I think I'm going to leave the doors off while we live here.  I much prefer looking at my stuff.

I have paper rolls in the top right skinny hamper.  You know, wax paper, deli paper, craft paper, freezer paper...do we really need all those different kinds of paper??  YES!

I had the great idea to store my pressed flowers under some of my mosaic supplies.  Freed up a lot of space in the closet and gave me something heavy to place on top.  They are also easier to access.  Once dried I put them on chinette paper plates and stack.

Finally have my craft hoard organized!  Much rather look at this than piles of crap everywhere.  The pictures tell the story.  Hope it gives you guys some ideas for storage.
