gelli print cards

I used my gelli print papers to make some cards for our birthday celebration we have planned this weekend.  Found a couple goodies the other day.  The pantone color guide was only one dollar!  And, I love the staple tin.  Nothing, it seems, comes in a tin anymore.  Not even coffee.

gelli print

I was inspired by a photo Don Taylor put on flickr.  Gelli printed the orange and yellow.  Went back with the same stencil and gesso.  Added the turquoise on top of gesso with pitt pens and crayola water colors.  All printed on the music of Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles.

flower

I doodled this flower on a dictionary page quite a while ago.  Had the great idea to use it with a napkin background.  It was more interesting in two pieces so I went for it.  Used some gelli prints in the collage and on the tag.

more stencils!

Okay forget what I said the other day about buying too many art supplies.  I had to go to Harrisonville, MO to get my drivers license renewed.  That was traumatic on it's own because that means a new pictures and I'm getting too old for that!

Any way, I stopped at the local Scrapbook-N-Memories store and was SO EXCITED to find out that she and her customers are ALL into art journaling!  I walked in the door and greeted Scruffy with one hand and started flipping through her awesome selection of stencils with the other.  Wow.  She had a great selection of 12x12 stencils and then mentioned that the 6x6 were behind me!  I saw the skull stencil just last night on a you tube video for Gelli prints.  NEVER dreamed I would find it so close to home.   So excited to meet Kourtney and now have a new favorite store.  The best part of this whole story is her store is only one town over.  Maybe 20 miles round trip.  Yeah!  Her store was filled with all kinds of art journaling goodies and I can't wait to go back.

gelli plate

Hit Walmart while I was out yesterday.  Needed some tone on tone spring colors.  I get excited just looking at this picture!  I do have to say that it is shameful that I bought even MORE paint.  After going through my stash I realize that I have have a art supply buying problem.  Sickness for sure.  But, can't wait to print!

My husband drove me to the other side of the city, over a hundred miles round trip so I could pick up a REAL gelli plate.  Found the ranger archival ink in some new fun colors.  The women that owns my favorite scrapbooking store cut me the dot stencil while I shopped.   I have not had so much fun crafting in years.  The gelli plate is great.

My husband grills all winter long.  Even if he has to get the snow shovel out.
