Garden 2015

The next round of blooms have begun.  California poppies reseed each year and bloom just as we open the pool.   The Iris were a little beat up from the rain but the Pansy's and Day Lily's on the other side of the porch are thriving.

I think we will hang this tomorrow. Will post pictures. Going to attach to fence in six places so it will stay this time.

If you check out the middle photo you will see how far off I was. I was really concentrating and thought I had it! Camera never lies. Wishing now that I started the d one row over. But I will have to make it work.

Had to move the no diving sign off my desk for a while. Worked on it for too long and can't trim tile anymore. My hand just won't work. Will rest my carpel tunnel and do some other art. I played around with some clear marbles last night. So cool.

What I love about the computer is that when I put a picture up I can immediately see where I've gone wrong. After I posted last night I pulled off the top of the o before I went to bed. Unfortunately I woke at 4am and haven't been able to go back to sleep. I am not a morning person...

Finished gluing the pool and the travertine edging.

Okay, broke down and bought more smalti today. Home Depot has an entire line of travertine mosaic tiles. So exciting for me because that is what we have around the pool and the patio. John did the back porch steps with the travertine pavers last year. It is a natural stone and reminds me of the keystone in Florida. It also stays cooler than the concrete and adds a great organic feel.

I tried to get John to give me some money for some smalti. Looks like I may have it covered. Did some gold leaf work behind the water so it will catch the sun. Really like it so far. Haven't glued anything down just playing with the colors.

My no diving sign was damaged in a wind storm last summer. Will give me the chance to do it again and better this time. Dang. I have been erasing for days trying to get the letters just right. I like the "N" now but it is a little to close to the edge. Should I move it??
