Closing in on 25000 views on my blog! I'm excited about that so thought I would share my beautiful backyard. We have had tons of rain this summer so the flowers were really lush and beautiful. I usually add seeds to the 40 foot bed every year. This year I waited because the poppies and morning glories reseeded themselves so well.

Summer 2013
We bought a new liner for the pool this year. It is really pretty. The hosta and fern love all this rain. Had to trim the honeysuckle way back because of aphids again. I'm thinking of replacing it all together. I love it because it attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. But if I have to treat it with insecticide that is not a good option.

no diving
Okay, broke down and bought more smalti today. Home Depot has an entire line of travertine mosaic tiles. So exciting for me because that is what we have around the pool and the patio. John did the back porch steps with the travertine pavers last year. It is a natural stone and reminds me of the keystone in Florida. It also stays cooler than the concrete and adds a great organic feel.
