gelli prints

These are just a few prints I pulled today.  So fun.  Hard to plan, but great surprises come to those who continue to layer. 

I'm exhausted and can't wait to start again tomorrow!

Gelli printing

I scored at the junk shop today.  DELI paper!  Have been collecting different texture tools and paint for another session of gelli printing. 

Pressed these zinnias today for future mandalas.  Love these colors.

It seems like I never use any thing extra in my journal.  I collect all that crap and it sits in cigar boxes.  So, I got carried away and used all of this collection.

I went back in and added the flower stamps again.

rainy morning

Busty and I took some rainy pictures the other day.

They inspired this page in my dylusion journal.  Tried to get the dreamy look the foggy lens gave my first few shots.  My zinnias are so beautiful this year.  

Love the drops, but a little disturbed that I speckled my SILK curtains!  Dang, I would have a fit if someone else did that.  Just had to relax and realize that if I'm going to do art in here there is going to be paint.  Oops.  My pottery barn rug has purple drops from the first week in here, I guess that means it is broke in now.  Really love my new view and will not be going back to the smallest room of the house.  What the hell was I thinking?  I now look at my pool and flowers instead of fourteen children under the age of five driving in the street instead of riding bikes.  Those kids are out of site out of mind!

This is how the page started out.  I stamped the flowers on deli paper using my stamping gears from Inkaddinkado and ranger archival ink.  I wish I would have left more of the bottom layer.  Oh well, live and learn.

I see now that my zinnias influenced my color choices of my latest mandala.  I pressed the flowers and am excited to create even more mandalas with the petals.  I guess you could say I'm addicted to the serenity I achieve when workings on mandalas.  Ommm.

art haul

We took my grandson to the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Nelson-Atkins museum, then on to Westport for a Fleamarket burger.  I was so excited to see the BEST art store I have ever been in right across the street!  Coldsnows.  I know, everyone knows about this place but me.  They had a special buy one get three free on the canvas and buy one get one free on all paint.  I picked up this great porcelain pallet full price.  What a wonderful art day for me!  I showed restraint and just picked paint for gelli printing.  They had all the Golden products buy one get one free.  Oh my.  So I spent 75 bucks and saved 130.  What a deal!  Although, it did turn out to be an expensive burger.
