Drawing the Ganesha

My drawing of the Ganesha is coming right along.  Will be excited to see how the stamps work out for me.

I'm really bogged down in my school work.  I did learn that charcoal, graphite, and lead pencil are all different things.  I searched my art store/studio last night and finally came up with the proper tool for toning your paper.  Graphite is different than the charcoal stick I was trying to use.  So, I learned about those things but my drawing is really pitiful.  I don't think I would have lasted in art school.

 Another lesson from my book.  I've been slacking off.  Don't know why.

 Maybe because it is so much more fun to doodle on a gelli print collage in my dylusion journal.  I love Bob Dylan.  Plus a bunch more random quotes I found on my desk today.

I didn't close one eye until the last one.  It made a big difference I think.

Elegant Writer

I arted along with Paula tonight.  Did the two quick sketches of Riki with the elegant writer by Speedball.  I need practice on exactly how much marker and how much water to use but I like them.

Another upside drawing.  I won't show my childhood landscape lesson.  Enough is enough.

Days like these I am so thankful to have my art to fall back on.  Riki had a bad low sugar spell so I freaked out and had a spell myself.  He is okay now and I'm feeling a little less panic.  Art helps.

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

I got my books from Amazon and have really enjoyed the first few lessons in "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain".  It is really amazing to be totally in the right brain.  The results are amazing compared to before.  I won't show my two portraits because I'm not supposed to look at them again until I'm done.  We will see if I have the nerve to post such messed up art on the Internet.  My Picasso guy got a little big but I still like it.  Did I mention how amazing it is to be in your right brain.  I like to think I spend most my time there!  Little Babushka is ready for spring.  He has spent the last week swaddled like a baby in his pink sling.  We will all be glad for some warm weather around here.  I need flowers.

I forgot to mention that all the above images were drawn upside down!  It tricks your left brain into stepping out of the picture.  So amazing.  Can't believe the difference.  I've always had to grid when drawing and did not use a grid on any of the above.
