hand carved stamps

Made a journal page with my hand carved stamps.  Wish I would have left the orange drips off.  Maybe I can fix it tomorrow.

Now I think it needs something but just not orange.

This is really nice I think.  I spent yesterday carving the stamps and then making a journal page with them.  It was really fun.  My mother's birthday was yesterday, she would have been 79 years old.  She has been gone 20 years and I am now 59, the age she was when she died.  Only now do I understand how young she was and how much more life she could have had.  She was truly a tortured soul.  

fall leaves

Added some specks on the leaves this morning with archival ink and a rubber stamp.  Makes such a difference.  They were naked last night.

I took this picture on the Country Club Plaza in 2007.  I love the reflection of the coin in the light.  After playing around with some index cards and water color I added it to a journal page in my dylusion journal.  A tip in.  The lady is something else on my desk, a photoshop creation I did years ago.  The more I worked on the page the more it resembled the picture so pulled it up on my computer to finish.  I like it.

I spent entirely too much time on this spread.  It was relaxing after I got through the ugly stage.  All done with craft paint.  I like the circus colors.

Had so much fun using my gel pens over my latest gelli prints.  Gelli prints make such a great background to work over.  I just glue them down in small pieces with matt medium.

Had fun doodling with my new gel pens on my dylusions journal.  Used gelli prints for the background collage.  No one told me that gel pens smear!  After some practice and patience I realized you just have to let them dry.

I don't know about y'all but, my desk and studio has been a disaster ever since I started gelli printing.  I found this box at a tag sale and set me up a gelli station.  

Placed my smaller stencils in front then the larger.  Used heavy cardboard to make sections for previous prints.  Can't wait to print again and see how this works.  I was storing them in a flat container and that wasn't working for me at all.  Also have a new drawer just for stylus tools.

This is my view of the pool today.  A SHEET of ice.  Brrr.

Could be what inspired my snowflake page.  I used my leftover gelli prints to do this page and finished it with a little bit of gel pen.

I really miss my little dog.

blackbird fly gelli print

I like this page much better than the last.  Gelli prints on deli paper make such a wonderful background for your art journal.  I used matt medium to glue the bird prints down.  Added some paint to the edges and the text and it is DONE.  Fun page and I love my bird stencil I made a few weeks ago.

Still don't like this page after whitewashing it.  I guess that is what is great about art journals.  You don't have to make good art as long as your making art!  I will say I like the lesson in the nine of swords.

I really don't like this page at all.  

gelli print page

Added a little green metallic border on this page and calling it done.  Just looking at it makes me want to break out my gelli plate for even more PRINTS!  

dylusion journal

There is a really cool gelli print under all the messed up part...

I spent weeks trying to paint my view and finally had to print a picture to make it happen.  Why can't I paint from nature without the photo?
