Riki's blankie
I whipped up this blanket after watching the video below on you tube. My corner miters didn't turn out perfect because I was using a striped fabric. Riki won't notice and I have learned to let small imperfections go when sewing or painting for that matter. My skills don't meet my standards but if I let that stop me I would never make anything, and all my art would live in the closet like it did for years and years.

peacock feather
Try as I might I cannot paint an authentic looking peacock feather. The bottom one is getting closer but needs work. Maybe when I get my new books it will help. Drawing on the Right side of the brain and a color book by the same author. The top and middle are what I "think" a peacock feather looks like...
Found more fabric that matches the bedroom. Bought a few yards of it and going to make Riki his own blanket so he can leave mine alone. The little brat chewed two rows of beads off the scarf the other day.

If you've never been to a Mardi Gras parade...
Here are a few photo's from my experiences there. Crazy things happen with the camera and the year after Katrina the orbs were unbelievable! I thought it was water on my lens but my husband pointed out that the spots changed position each photo. All I know is it was really sad up in the Garden District that night. They rolled and we came but no one forgot what had happened there. I cried while waiting for the parade to start and my husband was like a body guard instead of a date. On full alert.
Another year my camera was jacked up and you see the results of those photos. So magical and have inspired many art projects for me. I love the one with the flam beau. He saw me take his photo and my shutter was open long enough to catch his smile. Love that! That is what it feels like to be in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Old Crow Medicine Show
This page started with an Old Crow advertisement then I found the Old Crow Medicine Show! I am so behind the times. I love Dylan and they remind me of him and the old time music as a kid at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Riki says no more art. He wants on my lap. If you are wondering where I've been, holding Riki.
