no diving

My no diving sign was damaged in a wind storm last summer. Will give me the chance to do it again and better this time. Dang. I have been erasing for days trying to get the letters just right. I like the "N" now but it is a little to close to the edge. Should I move it??

Practiced a lot of layers here that I mostly covered up. Hate when that happens. There is a lot of good stuff under there. Ha. Also practiced saying no.

Studio 2012

Took a couple of weeks but I've switched my desk up and now can see it! Like the new set up and eager to start a big project.

Weirder

Had fun making this page with the stuff on my desk.

Yardstick

Saw this idea online somewhere and it seemed so simple but really useful. My Dad and a lot of my family worked at the Leeds Plant in Kansas City so I snatched up this yard stick when I saw it at a sale last summer. The plant has been closed for years.

Tim Holtz stuff

I've been sorting things and getting inspired for the new year. It does spark a lot of ideas to go through your stuff!

Floor pillow

Buster loves the new pillows! So relieved to have this last pillow done. Sewing for me is stressful and not fun. So happy that these turned out so pretty. I used my serger to add a little of the orange, yellow, and tan on the brown velvet pillow to make them all cohesive.

Elvis page

This page was so fun to make. So many layers. You would never guess what is under all this goodness. Art journaling to me is taking lifes challenges and failures and turning them into something beautiful after all. He would have been seventy seven today. Now that just doesn't sound right does it?

Salesman paper samples

Found the large stack of paper samples at a sale yesterday. The postcards also. I now have a collection! The guy sold them to me for four bucks! Yippee!

Floor pillow

Floor pillow

Second one down and one to go. I made a mistake cutting the batting yesterday so need to figure out what I'm going to do about that. This pillow is a cotton velour from Fabric.com. Really soft and the design is raised.

Floor pillow

This is my first experience with applique. I have hoarded this cotton block print fabric for six years. The scale wasn't quite right for a pillow so I appliqued more triangles into a pleasing pattern. Using cotton batting and muslin I made a sandwich and machine quilted around the original triangles.

Had a great on line shopping experience at Fabric.com. They had 27" down pillow forms for twenty bucks each. What a deal, also ordered a beautiful cotton velvet and another fabric for a third.

Game night will be much more comfortable in the future!
